Biofarma Group has always been committed and passionate about developing cosmetic and nutraceutical products with high innovation content.
The Beauty Care division of the Group develops a wide range of products, from facial treatments and body products to solutions for hair well-being, hygiene, and skin care, even for the most sensitive and delicate of children. In addition, a wide range of applications of cutting-edge cosmetics developed thanks to the ability to read and interpret the market and its needs constantly.
The Beauty and Skincare sector is, in fact, in continuous transformation, a reflection of a changing society, and today some keywords outline its main trends: Solid and Sustainable Cosmetics and Beauty from Within.
These two concepts will be the great protagonists of Biofarma Group’s proposal for Cosmoprof 2023, which has always been an international reference event for all companies and professionals in the cosmetics sector.
For some time, the Biofarma group focused on producing innovative cosmetics with a solid formulation oriented to the well-being of the face, hair, and body. Solid cosmetics made without or with shallow water content have concentrated formulas rich in active ingredients, making them more durable than traditional products without adding preservatives.
The offer presented at Cosmoprof 2023 will be characterized by new solutions in this area, resulting from essential investments in cutting-edge technologies. An example is the hot filling methodology, which allows products to be entirely or almost water-free, such as sunscreens, face creams, eye creams, masks, conditioners, and cleansers.
The process starts with a mixture of products heated at controlled temperatures until completely melted, followed by the hot-dosed filling in the container or mold. After the filling process, the container is immediately cooled, a crucial step that leads to the solidification of the product.
The advantages of hot filling technology are numerous: from water saving in a planet-friendly perspective to the limited use of preservatives, generally necessary to counteract bacterial proliferation in the aqueous vehicle. In addition, solid formulations lead to more excellent hygiene: the product should be applied directly to the skin and hair, thus limiting contact with the hands, generally also a vehicle for the spread of germs. As a consequence of this application method, there is also a waste reduction and, therefore, in product residues released into the environment. A further advantage is that these solutions are travel friendly due to their easy portability.
Not only innovative and sustainable technologies, at Cosmoprof Biofarma Group will bring an approach to Beauty Care that also looks at the health of the body: Treccani defines the nutricosmetic as a ‘food supplement that performs a beneficial action of nourishing the skin.’ For some years, the latest trend of some supplements has been to make the skin more beautiful and fight premature aging, taking care of beauty from the inside. It results in a perfect blend of nutrition and cosmetics, with functional ingredients that, once taken orally, bring benefits, especially to the skin, hair, or nails, to enhance their overall appearance.
This philosophy will be reflected in the choice to present cosmetic and nutraceutical solutions within the product range. Therefore, for the “Sun Care” product category, the proposal of innovative formulations for sun protection – such as sunscreens with mineral filters (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) that reflect the sun’s rays as a physical barrier on the skin – is flanked by nutraceutical proposals with antioxidant action, helpful in preparing the skin for tanning.
Even in the Face Care category, the approach is twofold and, for example, the cosmetic proposal of an anti-pollution face cream based on zeolite, able to protect the skin from smog, fine dust, and climatic changes, is flanked by the Bubble Beauty Tabs, effervescent tablets that, dissolved comfortably in a water bottle, exert an antioxidant action in favor of the well-being of the skin.
Each person’s skin responds differently to lifestyle and the external environment, so the future trend will be to have a personalized product with a combination of cosmetic ingredients and bioactive compounds capable of acting specifically on skin health also general well-being. Indeed, a combined approach of nutraceuticals and cosmetics represents the future trend of the Beauty market.
