The immune system represents an articulated, interconnected network of chemical and cellular mediators, structures and biological processes, which have been generated in the course of evolution, to defend the human organism from pathogens (external invaders that cause disease), while also fighting the body's abnormal cells, such as tumour cells, damaged cells or cells infected by viruses.
These defence mechanisms fall into two main categories: those of non-specific immunity and those of specific immunity:
Non-specific or innate immunity is the first line of defence against aggression and puts the immune system on high alert for a specific immunity response. It takes advantage of the body's natural barriers such as the skin and certain cells;
Specific immunity, also called acquired immunity, represents a more targeted and effective response as a defence system. Those directly involved are T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes
Our portfolio of immune-supporting dietary supplements represents the synthesis of an integrated and synergistic approach that acts in several areas: the well-being of intestinal flora, the modulation of immune function with the consequent well-being of the respiratory system, and the optimal supply of essential vitamins and minerals.
